This is our second year purchasing coffee from the producers of the Valle Inca group in the Cusco Department of Peru, and we couldn't be happier with this relationship. Valle Inca is run by Prudencio Varga Saenz and located in the Yanatile Valley in the south of Peru. Prudencio buys parchment from farmers and reinvests premiums into the coffee growing community, encouraging higher quality coffees. In year two of roasting this coffee we have seen the quality improve by leaps and bounds. These farmers receive above Fair Trade prices for their coffee, as Prudencio purchases everything they grow to incentivize them to continue to strive to grow even higher scoring coffees. The coffee is made up of the varieties bourbon, typica, and caturra and is fully washed and dried on raised beds in the sun.
