During the spring of 2022 head roaster Nolan visited some of these washing stations in Rwanda and was blown away by the dedication the people here have for producing coffee, and also saw how the importer/exporter relationship with these producers was set up to not only improve the quality of coffee, but also help ensure a stable income for these producers year-round.
This fully washed organic certified coffee comes from smallholder farmers that deliver their ripe coffee cherry to washing stations located throughout the countryside of Rwanda. Coffee processing here starts with hand-sorting, fermentation, soaking, and then finally dried on raised beds in the sun.
