About the Coffee
Another year, another beautiful coffee from the Karambi washing station in Kenya. This year's harvest of Rwanda Karambi comes from 755+ smallholder farmers from the Nyamasheke district in the Western Province of Rwanda. The farmers here work together to bring their fresh cherry to the Karambi washing station where trained workers remove any defective cherry through a floatation process. The coffee is then sorted visually, depulped, fermented for up to 10 hours, and spread out on raised beds in the sun to dry. The high quality standards here at the Karambi washing station lead to a smooth and balanced profile with subtle spice notes complemented by strong acidity.
