About the Coffee
Fuerza de Mujer is an all women's coffee producer group located within the Acatenango, Atitlan, and San Martin Jilotepeque regions of Guatemala. The women that belong to this group receive technical training from inspectors within the co-op, as well as assistance with financial practices, health and nutrition, and farm improvements. Many women in the group are also artisanal weavers who make extra money by selling fabrics. Fuerza de Mujer members pick all their own coffee cherries with the help of immediate family, before handing the cherries off to the inspectors from the co-op who stop by to drop off fertilizers, and collect the coffee. This coffee is fully washed, dried in the parchment after a short fermentation and a healthy washing in clean water. It is also fair trade and organic certified!
