Guatemala Huehuetenango Slow Food

The Huehuetenago region in Guatemala puts out some of the most well balanced and versatile coffees from this area of the world. This coffee is also a part of two very important programs for sustainability. Here are some notes from the importer to help break down what that means: "The Slow Food movement aims to support small-scale producers who preserve crop varieties, agricultural practices, and food traditions. A Presidium is a local project with a goal to find a viable future for small scale producers of regional, artisanal food." It's exciting to see how these types of projects and movements correlate to an improvement in quality as we work with this coffee year after year.
