About the Coffee
It has been too long since we've offered a natural processed Ethiopian coffee! Reko is the name of a community of coffee farmers that grow their coffee at high elevations of 1,950 - 2,000 MASL in Yirgacheffe's Kochere district. This area has its own microclimate, and the coffees produced here have their own unique and distinct characteristics because of it. After the harvest, the coffees are brought to the Aricha washing station, a centrally located station that processes coffees from a few different coffee growing communities in this area including Idido, Reko, Gersi, and Naga Singage. Testi Coffee, the exporter whom we were able to acquire this coffee from, is run by Faysel Abdosh, a native of Harar, who noticed the need for a washing station in the area. He purchased Aricha back in 2018 and restored it to what is today -- Testi Coffee's most efficient operating station. The coffee growers from these communities are grateful to have a washing station available again to sell their coffee to, instead of having to travel further from their community. We are excited to be roasting such a lovely coffee!
