About the Coffee
Coffee from Ethiopia reminds us of flowers, fruits, sunshine, and tea. Being the birthplace of coffee, landrace (heirloom) varieties that have been passed down for generations grow here in small plots, oftentimes right in people's gardens or landscaped around houses. Uncommon flavors develop here, and for that reason Anodyne strives to keep a fresh and crisp washed coffee from Ethiopia on the menu at all times. This new arrival comes from the Kercha Washing Station, in the magical Yirgacheffe growing area of Ethiopia. It was grown between 1,800 - 2,000 MASL and was fully washed which can produce bright citrus and tea-like notes. For this lot we find lovely flavors of lemongrass, vanilla, plum, with some very juicy sweetness! This coffee feels like the sun shining through a pitcher of iced tea on a sunny afternoon in a botanical garden.
