Guatemala Buena Vista Natural

About the Coffee
Back in the summer of 2020 we offered a honey-processed coffee from the Buena Vista farm, an operation run by Fredy Orantes in the Fraijanes region of Guatemala. Fredy is a leader among coffee growers in this area, and his attention to detail during processing is something special. This year we are proud to offer another stunner from the farm! The lot is made up of yellow catuai cherries that are processed as a natural, which generally means that it was dried while leaving the fruit still intact on the beans. First the coffee is soaked to remove any immature beans and dust, next Fredy's team spread the cherries out on raised beds during the hottest time of the day. The beans are turned over frequently to ensure even drying, and it can take up to 30 days to fully dry. All that hard work really shows up in the cup!
